Ok, so first things first.Gary is an interesting character...he has a relatively compelling backstory and you can genuinely get behind him.Unfortunately, that's where it stops.LitRPG is all about the game mechanics...but the author skips over them. As in, the character jumps up five levels in one chapter, but no discussion of skills, assigning points, or any of the things you expect in a game lit book. The lack of any of the trappings of a LitRPG makes it feel like a romance novel.Next, the superpowers. Despite the description of the book, and the in book explanation, making it sound like it's an urban comic setting, it's some form of fantasy world, but again, badly explained. The setting jars majorly with the whole 'superpower' theme, as does the 'swords and sorcery' weaponry.Overall, the book has potential, but the author needs to decide what type of story they want to tell.
Thank you for this book Honestly I've been avoiding the game litGenre until just recently. I'm not into RPG's at all. I much prefer to read. That said I'm very happy with this book and I expect to enjoy the next two just as muchSo again thank you for your vision and style. It's far from a boring rehash of every other gamer based piece of crap and I now have another author that I know any story written by him will be worth reading
Superheros in a fantasy MMORPG. Sword Art Online meets TRON meets HaremLit, but done badly. Simple writing with very bad scene descriptions. Would not recommend.
The story itself, while somewhat campy and cliche to start, is still a pretty good time killer. Needs better editing because there where several dropped words and continuity errors.
The series starts with the main character trapped in a world of supervillains, dragons, and an unstoppable hacker with limitless powers. He allies with three women who fight for his heart, but with his life on the line will he ever escape to be with any of them.
